Leslie & Tammy

Leslie A. Texas has over twenty years of experience working with K-12 teachers and schools across the country to enhance rigorous and relevant instruction. She believes that improving student outcomes depends on comprehensive approaches to teaching and learning. She taught middle and high school mathematics and science, and has strong content expertise in both areas. Through her advanced degree studies, she honed her skills in content and program development and student-centered instruction. Using a combination of direct instruction, modeling, and problem-solving activities rooted in practical applications, Leslie helps teachers become more effective classroom leaders and peer coaches.

An educator since 1979, Tammy L. Jones has worked with students from first grade through college. Currently, Tammy is consulting with individual school districts in training teachers on effective techniques for being successful in the classroom. As a classroom teacher Tammy’s goal was that all students understand and appreciate the concept they were studying; that they could read it, write it, explore it, and communicate it with confidence; and that they would be able to use the concepts as they need to in their lives. She believes that problem solving, followed by a well-reasoned presentation of results, is central to the process of learning, and that this learning happens most effectively in a cooperative, student-centered classroom. Tammy believes that learning is experiential and in her current consulting work creates and shares educational experiences.
